no idea how though

i hate that.. when you know someone is mad at you about something but they won't tell you what and won't communicate... it's frustrating as hell.

1. Tell them that you'll be there when they want to talk about it
and stay away until then.

5. If they've decided to give you the cold shoulder, there is nothing that you can do about it
except to let them know that you'll be there to discuss it when they're willing to do so, and that you're sorry they're not interested in allowing you to hear their side of the story, and thus do something about it.

Don't feed tantrums. If they truly like you, they'll come around to talk and resolve. If they are more interested in holding a grudge, they'll do just that. Sorry that you're going through this. People is the kwaziest peoples. Ego is useless and the cause of the majority of our problems.

7. They must be most interested in your understanding the way they feel
Edited on Tue Dec-23-08 12:51 AM by Peake
and will make sure that you know the way they feel. Once you can establish to them that you know how they feel, you can get to what caused it. Of course, if you don't know what caused such a reaction, that'll just make them angry again.

Tell them you value the friendship and want to fix whatever is wrong. If they won't, they won't. People are often like that.

Edit: A friend of mine was once really angry with me, terribly so. I ended up telling them that I didn't know what I'd done to make them so upset, but that I was sorry for whatever it was...I don't remember if I asked what it was so that I wouldn't do it again; I don't think it ever came to that. They accepted the apology and quite visibly changed from wrath to welcome. I hope that this or similar is your experience.

8. yeah, here's the thing though
if someone doesn't know how to communicate, i don't know if that's going to be a lasting friendship. like i said.. i hate drama.. and something like this just creates it.

9. Go back and check what I've added in edit to my last post
as it might be helpful. If they aren't interested in a genuine, heartfelt apology even if you don't know what you did wrong, they might not be worth being friends with. Sorry..
