22. I'm sorry, Dain... I haven't been able to speak to/be with mine either...

and I thought at least we'd be able to have a talk via phone. They're on a cruise with my ex, but I'm wondering if my teenager is also upset and blowing me off - I don't know... I'm hoping they're just too busy or out of range.

Spoke to my mother today, and I heard pain in her voice as well - neither of us were with our kids today, for the first time ever, I think. Her kids are in their 40's and one is even considerably grey-haired (the kid that is not me - only men in my family get grey hair for some reason) but it's still hard.

I'm grateful for Elrond's post.

good days are when I'm with/talk to/in contact with my kids... the other days are the tough ones... : ) I'm still holding out hope for a late night call, but, I'm not sure what time zone they're in right now, so... (ugh). I'm glad they're doing something wonderful, that makes it a little better, but damn. I miss them.

17. ...yes... I'm bored and lonely - have never spent Christmas alone before, and

it was okay for the most part, but I wasn't able to get in touch with my kids at all (they are on a cruise with my ex) so I'm a little bummed right now.

So I do need a hug : (

(I forgot depressed - that too. the holidays can be tough, especially since the "rules" require manufactured cheer and perfect warmth when reality doesn't always cooperate).

25. thanks. I've decided we're having Christmas the next time we're together -

be it February, April, July... no matter. I've even forewarned my mother (if I fly to her house which is the usual protocol) she's getting out the darn decorations - regardless of the calendar.

Beautifully, she agreed... I thought I'd have to work on her more than that!
