Sweet newborn baby Jesus, does someone have a MS Word answer for me here?
I have to copy text that contains hyperlinks and paste it on a blogger entry. Is there any possible way to copy the links too, or do I actually have to go through and type them in myself? The correct answer is there's a way to copy the links too. Please tell me that there is a way. Please.

1. ummm highlight link in browser
right click, choose copy
go to blog
right click where you want it
then click paste?

or, if you jsut want to use a word in the blog text to create a hyperlink...
use this html format

<link:URL|Text>
URL is without the "http://".
Example: <link:www.dcscripts.com|DCScripts>

such as DU

I have this big paragraph of text. In it are, say, three links. I want to highlight the entire paragraph and past it in the blogger window, with the links intact. I haven't figured out a way to do this yet.

ETA: Also, I can't right click; I'm on a Mac.

4. yes you can
get a two button mouse.

Alternatively, ctrl click will bring up a menu with options just like the right click on a two button mouse.

3. On blogger there is an icon in the Create Post box
the third one from the left. Highlight the text where you want the link. Copy the link location. Then click on the link icon in blogger. It looks like two links of chain. Paste the link in this box and you're done.

I actually want to avoid having to do that.

5. I'm wondering if I'm not being clear here...I'll try again here...

I have a giant paragraph in word. In it, out of the 500 words in the paragraph, are three words that serve as hyperlinks to URLs (blue text, underlined, etc.). I want to highlight the entire paragraph, copy it, and paste it into blogger WITH THE LINKS INTACT. I don't want to have to recreate those links.

ETA: Is there a way to display the HTML in the word document? I tried saving it as a web page and then viewing HTML source, but it was full of a lot of gobbledygook.

Copy n Paste them in is the simplest

If you want to embed them dynamically

Copy the Source
In the word doc - Edit/Paste Special/Paste Link

I think if you sue special paste you will get options..like html format...that might give you what you want.

9. Unfortunately, I can't "paste special" because by that time I've switched to my browser, Safari.
Don't tease me like that! :p

11. You're being clear enough ...

You'll need to concentrate your efforts on the Blogger editor. I've never used it, so I don't know how it's done there, but this is a rather common problem with copying text with meta-info from one thing to another.

When you copy the stuff out of Word, it will contain all the meta info you need just to paste it with links. When doing this into an HTML formatted document, the key is the editor of the HTML. For example, with some HTML editors, if I do this on the WYSIWYG window, the editor interprets my paste by default as non-literal. That is, the paste doesn't transfer everything in my clipboard, which includes the meta info, rather what would display without that, and that can leave out the link information. OTOH, if I could to a "source" window in the editor, i.e. a place where I can manually alter the underlying HTML code, and paste, the meta info gets transferred literally, and all the links are already there when I go back to the window that lets me see how it renders.

Anyway ... too many words there, and I'm not helping exactly, but something like that is where your problem is.

Note: If you can edit the source and can paste the text you copied out of WORD into it, this should work, but it will contain non-standard HTML.

12. Yes.
Blogger has a WYSIWYG window, but I can't make it work or publish, and I can't get the links to stay in it, either.

The source was just way too full of crap to even be useful; it actually takes less time to type the links than mess with the source HTML.

14. No, you cannot. Blogger entry window is more than likely set for text only.
The problem is that the posting window for your blog is more than likely (perhaps 100% likely) set to receive text only. So, when you copy from the Word document, any special formatting that might get copied into the clipboard will be lost when you paste into the blogger window.

What you could do is expand the links in the Word document to give the whole URL, and then you will copy the URLs when you copy the paragraph. It won't make the blog entry have hotlinked words, but it will at least give the URL.

18. I was just complaining. The right answer was,
"Yes, Ogneopasno, there is a simple way to do what you're asking...it consists of one simple keyboard command and it will mightily reduce the time you need to spend on the damnable project that's currently sucking your soul away out through your eyeballs, leaving you free to drink copious amounts of the beverage of your choice in front of the fire."

You know...something along those lines.

17. I have to admit, I'm not really clear on what you're looking for, but
have you tried highlighting the text and links you want to post, pressing control and the letter c simultaneously to copy, then go to the spot you want to past and press control and the letter v to paste?

I don't have a blogger account, but it seems to take all the links as hyperlinks in other online fora.

and all I get in the blogger window is the text. But it sounds like I really am out of luck.

20. That would be my best guess.
Does your blogger posting dialogue box have a help function? Maybe they offer some clues. I've also had some pretty good results for past questions by Googling. It's worth a shot before you give up and pronounce yourself 'up Shit Creek in a chickenwire canoe.'

would produce some magic unicorn fart solution, but it hasn't. Ah well. :)
