Sniffa and my bro are playing Wii Golf. Next, my brother and I are going to play the bowling game.

3. Indeed. I played a lot of "Boom Blox" on Tuesday and Wednesday...
...and had trouble sleeping Wednesday night because of the pain in my "throwing" arm.

2. Wow. He actually found one?
Most people can't seem to find one anywhere. My wife very kindly bought me one from eBay a while back. Fun stuff.

4. Are they really realistic? Because I need to exercise and my favorite
sport it tennis. I also have asthma so I don't know, (after all these years)if I could keep up on a real court.

Anyway I don't know much about this thing but if it is realistic and I can get some exercise in I would definitely buy one.

7. Thanks. I think the next step is to get to an electronics store and ask them
to let me try it out. Of course that won't be until the whirling dervishes of retail leave and I can find a decent parking spot.

6. In ways they are truncated, but the physics are very good -- and it's addicting
Edited on Fri Dec-26-08 06:01 PM by HypnoToad
The Wii Sports games (golf, baseball) are truncated and not full-length. Which is nice because 9 innings would bore me silly; doing 3 innings and starting over was a nice gesture.

Each sport (tennis, golf, baseball, bowling, boxing) has variants and goals (home runs, proper throwing aim, hitting targets, etc) so each variant within each game doesn't get "worn out" as quickly.

Many owners have commented that 3rd party bowling games do not match the accuracy of Wii Sports' bowling. Ditto for boxing. A shame, but at $40~$60 per game, it's saving me money for not buying...

Tennis was sedentary -- it's all arm action, you're not really running around, but it does a good job at things.

I've gathered Nintendo has or soon will come out with an extension to their controller adding more than double the accuracy. That I am looking forward to trying.

Plus, FWIW, all the games were programmed in the USA. So go on and get the lead out! :D

8. Thanks HT. I never thought that I could play tennis sitting down
That's kind of a bummer because I want something to make me get up. But then again it is up to me.

11. Well, it can be played standing up
You just won't be bouncing around like on a real tennis court

You can still get good arm exercise from it.

And you can't do bowling sitting down. :) (unless one cheats with the controller, which I try not to do because that's cheating.)

10. If you want real "Exercise & Performance Scores" ...I hear the Wii "FIT" is the best
extension. The rest is a lot of fun, though.
