The greatest sitcom ever wasn't Seinfeld.
The greatest sitcom ever was Taxi.

As some here are wont to say, discuss.

3. Jim: "What does a yellow light mean?" "Slow down."
"W h a t d o e s a y e l l o w l i g h t m e a n?" One of the best lines ever in sitcom history.

6. Seinfeld united plot and subplot better and more humorously than any sitcom
that was what they did. they were good.

12. Don't know if it counts because it's on HBO, but I would vote for
'Curb Your Enthusiasm'. Of course, it is the creation of Larry David. I would place Seinfeld a close second. I have only seen Taxi in re-runs and thought it was funny also.

17. You're all wrong, Two and a Half Men is the greatest sitcom.
Consistently funny.

The Young Ones is a close second, only nudged out of first place because it only ran for 2 seasons, and only 1 episode featured "The Rickety Chair".

19. With all due respect, Taxi sucked.
If not for Elaine Nardo's figure, I wouldn't have tuned in at all. I don't think the show ever made me laugh; it was awful.
