my baby tucker was hit by a car today. she's ok except for a broken paw and some cuts and scratches, but she won't be able to see a vet until tomorrow morning(first thing). we called the bet and she said that the symptoms sound ok and that tucker should recover quickly and to bring her in first thing in the morning.

Many years ago my old dog was stepping off the curb to come back across the street as a van came around the corner, and I heard him yelp as it went by. I think it grazed his nose because he didn't appear to be hurt, but he did seem more aware of cars after that. My neighbor's dog had a similar thing happen, but got a little cut on the top of her head. So scary, but such a relief that the injuries were minor.

27. an update:

i took her in first thing this morning, and just got a call from the vet.. she's banged up on her right side.. that is obviously where she was hit. she'll be fine after a few days of recovery, but right now she's in a lot of pain mostly due to a fracture on the right side of her face, near the eye.

poor baby :(
