Open it up and what do we have for a happy new year? Notice of lien being filed by the guy who poured the concrete and built the retaining wall for our carport because our contractor hasn't paid him!
Talk about WTF?
I just knew 2008 wasn't going out without one more pain in the a$$ hit from the fire that burned down our house in 2007.
I'm waiting for hubby to wake up from a nap before we get on the phone and find out from the contractor just why the bill hasn't been paid and why he's let it get to this point.
4. I suspect it will get straightened out--but not without hassle. Anytime
attorneys get involved, it becomes more costly and more of a pain to get fixed. Better the contractor should have paid the guy. We've made all our payments to the contractor when requested. We have one last payment to make--upon completion--and the contractor has been taking his sweet time finishing the punch list. BUT, the payment we owe him for final is $700 less than this subcontractor says he is owed.
