An inaguration parade rant
In my opinion, anyone over the age of 18 who begged away from the parade once it got started, leaving the reviewing stand almost deserted except for Pres. and V.Pres and the first ladies need a BIG BONIFIDE ASS WHOPPIN. Those prime seats (warm) being empty at 6:00 pm is a national disgrace and embarrassment. Disrespectful to the President, and much more important, disrespectful for those parade cast members who traveled long distances and performed in the bitter cold for our benefit.

1. I agree....they are parade (party) poopers.
I would bet that most of those marching in the parade had to work and save to afford to be there and the practice and time spent on top of that...

I am so disappointed...

7. yes
well why don't you stand in hours long lines in the cold and not EVEN get in (which happened) and get back to us.The entrances to the parade route were CLOSED at about 9am. That means those people had been there for 7 or 8 hours at least
You have NO idea what a madhouse it was down there.

6. They said many folks with tickets to that event couldn't get in
The security lines at the metal detectors were too long. They were told they would not get in at all, tickets or no.

The city was overwhelmed and understandably so.

It is an embarassment of riches, to have a public event of our government be totally sold out, popular beyond measure and we should consider ourselves lucky to witness one.

:hi:

8. some of the metal detectors failed as well.
Which meant people could NOT be let in to events. Yeah, the crowds were overwhelming..

9. Etiquette-wise, yes, it was rude of them - but from an empathetic view, the parade IS FUCKING BORING
And so I cannot, in good faith, fault the people who felt the need to excuse themselves from something that is utterly and absolutely and most egregiously the most boring possible anything that any human being should never, ever, ever be asked to endure.

Seriously - asking people to stay for such an abysmal and shittyescent "event" is inhuman.
