1. I was just about to head
out to work when I saw you post, and just had to stop by to say hello.

Hope all is well with you, and as always, wishing you the best of luck.

5. I seriously thought about using Highly_Skilled_Propagandist.
But I'm not in the mood to advertise my skills as such. Why tip my hat too early.

I'm in a bit of a bind. No more deep-pockets at the moment. I'm working on a plan to (I feel like a page out of Perils of Pauline) save our stuff.

How are you doing? How is school?

7. I am not bad
Been out of school for awhile, I'm looking to move back to Montana here soon, I hope. Just doing some writing right now and helping my uncle out just a little with his business.

Well you helped me out when I needed it, so hopefully soon I'll be able to return the favor. Stay in touch and keep fighting, you're a great person and good things will come your way. :)

13. oh I have been
working on a collection of short stories and essays for awhile now. Political writing and school and just going back to the drawing board to hone my skills took precedent over that for the last several years. And I'm working on a few screenplays too.

I'll move depending on if I get a job I'm applying for, I was actually asked to apply for it, so that's a good sign. I'm hoping it's mine to lose. :)

25. I just read your comments in the other thread
so sorry things are such a mess. You've got all the cyber hugs, good vibes, positive energies I got.

Have you contacted your mortgage company and asked them if they can help. You need to - the mortgage companies don't want to be stuck with more homes.

hugs and vibes and all strength and hope for you  :loveya:

27. I can't bring myself to pack and ship your print but I will.
It's been keeping me warm from the top of my dresser. :) It was the best of the bunch ... so far. I have a few more I'd like to print when I have the money to invest.

The bank/mortgage holder referred us over to HUD. We filled out all of that paperwork this past weekend. We have been able to avoid foreclosure so far. Jon's truck is up for sale, that will help a bit.

I'm about to snail-mail a letter explaining our plight to our Congressman to see what help he can suggest.

This whole mess should never have happened in the first place! We hired a lawyer 5 months ago trying to get Jon's brother to take monies out of the Trust Fund which was wholly invested in Madoff Securities. His brother said there was no way he could get any of the money out for Jon. That is why we hired the lawyer in the first place. Now ~ we want to break the trust. When (and we have no idea how long this will take) the insurance pays off on the loss we want to - 1 ~ pay off this mortgage, 2 ~ invest the balance through a local insurance company that we know and trust.

We have a plan ... let's hope it flys!

On the drive back home from the state ABATE meeting, I was talking about how you are my inspiration. :loveya:

29. You have a full plate,
I know you will ship the print when you get the chance.

It looks as if you have a plan and I pray it kicks in soon and works out.

me, an inspiration , what a sweet thing to say but it is you that made it possible for me to survive - your generosity of spirit and heart and the boxes you sent - look in the mirror there is your inspiration  :loveya:

I hope I'm not driving escort down that way anytime soon. I'd rather start out in the sticks.

12. Hi Joanie!
I hope you are finding a way to come through everything.

I'm getting lost in all the paperwork and appointments and meetings and approvals and denials and contradictions and bureaucracy of trying to get help.

16. Hey ThomCat!
I know what you mean about paperwork. A few weeks ago Jon ask me to finish one of his applications because his "brain hurt" from having to concentrate. We usually spend Saturday and Sunday with paperwork. Now we are waiting for follow-up appointments re:paperwork.

Good Luck, TC  I wish it wasn't such an uphill climb for you.

24. You're welcome.
Part of the new name is one of my initials

The other is a character in a story:

The Wapsipinicon River flows through the heart of Iowa. Beginning in the northern most part of the state and eventually flowing into the Mississippi River, the legend of the rivers name is a love story similar to that of Romeo & Juliet.

Wapsi was a young Indian brave; Pinicon was a beautiful Indian maiden. Wapsi was one of the warlike Sioux, and Pinicon belonged to the equally hostile tribe of Sac. As fate wiled it, they met, fell in love but strong objections from both tribes deterred them from expressing their love to each other. Their love remained strong and the lovers found means of communicating their passion and they decided one evening to elope. On the very evening they were preparing to leave, Pinicon's father returned from a hunt and found the two together. Wapsi fled and Pinicon waited until her father fell fast asleep and she slipped away into the night to find her lover.

Guided by the October moon, the two reunited and Wapsi exclaimed, “Not even death shall ever part us more. Let us fly to my northern home, where parental tyranny can never separate us and we can dwell in peace and harmony until the Great Spirit, ‘Gitchie Manitou', calls us.” Just then, they heard footsteps in the distance and realized that Pinicon's father and three braves were approaching. They ran in desperate flight away from their chasers. Once they reached the river bank, there was no time for reconsideration; the murmuring river was singing their funeral chant. Without a word, the devoted lovers clasped in each other's arms and plunged into the river. The enraged father reached the bank only to behold them struggling in the water, sinking and rising and with one last gasp sinking.

The couple decided they would rather die than be taken back and separated. They raced to the river, clasped each other, leaped into the stream and drowned in the swirling waters. The sorrowful Indian chief later named the stream Wapsipinicon.
