So.. I was thinking, ... (invention?)
Backstory: When I did construction and we needed to relocate the main electricity line coming into a building, I was the whacked out crazy monkey who chose to do that part of the job.

I remember clearly the feeling of electricity just handling the line...

Ok

That is like.. electricity and junk, right? The hairs on your arm stand up (if you have hair on arms) and everything.

Why doesn't someone create a coating to put on power lines that harnesses this energy and converts it to heat? Seems like it would be simple.

Just think, powerlines that never get below 40 degrees F. That would eliminate outages due to ice. You know, we'll probably continue having winters for a few more years.

:shrug:
