What bosses are more likely to be politically prejudicial
Liberal boss with a conservative worker or ...

A conservative boss with a liberal worker.

Why or why not?

1. Conservative Boss/Liberal Employee
has been the story of my life in sales...I get a ton of shit for my views, and I give it right back. I think that's why I was laid off. My boss' boss was a neocon who is still fighting the Civil War, and I am a brash liberal Yankee chick.

6. nope....
Have to disagree here. No "sorry" or "excuse me." Yankee prejudice has cost me enough money!!!!

The exception case is that of a Northern-New England liberal boss with a new 'Southern' worker. Northerners, especially New Englanders, make an awful lot of assumptions about Southerners without talking things over first. 'Southerners' means anyone whose last residence was below the Mason-Dixon line. That includes Kentucky as well as both Carolinas, Texas and the Deep South States of Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana.

I have been appalled at the extent of prejudice among New Englanders, who claim they "don't have a prejudiced bone in my body." (unquote) These are people who claimed they are very liberal.

This is based on personal experience.

By the way, never had any problems with the good folks from NY State or Pennsylvania. As they say, live and let live. I :loveya: folks from NY and PA, including those from Philly and NYC!!! The pizza is the greatest in the world, and the tolerance for people of different backgrounds is wonderful!

The intolerance comes from the Puritans of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Maine, and to a lesser extent, the other New England states of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Connecticut.

Mmmm'kay?!?!

8. the prejudice goes both ways my friend
I have had bosses from the Deep South who have been great, but by and large I have been treated differently because I'm a Yankee and a female. See my previous post regarding my most recent layoff. And yes, the company I worked for was Texan and only us Yankees were let go.

Hey, it's not my fault that the South lost the Civil War. That would be like me hating the British because they fought in my backyard (literally).

Thanks for generalizing about all of us New Englanders. We're all so snotty and superior, don't you know.

I really am sick of all this North-South crap.

10. That's What I want to Know
I haven't witnessed anti-Southern sentiments and I'm a life-long New Englander. I have witnessed a lot more nasty behavior up here compared to other parts of the country but not directed at any regional or ethnic group specifically.
