Little things you really hate
Edited on Sat Mar-06-04 02:53 PM by WillyBrandt
I'll start with two:

- Getting seltzer instead of Sprite at Burger King because the Soda machine is screwed up
- Getting hit by cold water by accident in the shower, when expecting hot

13. Now...
There's a rather infamous light in my town, and it's directly on the way to school/work for a lot of people. Turning left is ONLY allowed on a green arrow. I've timed this -- at 7:50AM, the arrow is green, and stays green for 25 seconds. This can get about 3-4 cars through. It doesn't matte rif there's 50 behind it, 25 seconds. So the three-four cars when that arrow is yellow/red don't offend me at all. Fix the damn light!

5. When people say
Edited on Sat Mar-06-04 03:09 PM by asthmaticeog
a propos when they mean "appropriate" or "fitting." I realize that widespread usage is making that more acceptable, but goddammit, that's NOT what it freakin' means!

Edited to add: also, people who use "data" as a singular - the singular form is "datum," and I'll go to my grave railing against those who say "the data is" instead of "the data are." I even catch myself doing it once in awhile, it's gotten to be so pervasive.

Yeah, I'm probably a heart attack candidate.

THe only place where I see that is in OLD philosophy books.

You slow down to 20 fucking miles an hour, blink your headlights--then are forced to pass them anyway.

Then they'll tailgate you.
