I bought one of those "pet hair sweeper" things they've been advertising.

God knows I can use it. But when I got it home and read the instructions...you're supposed to use it until it's full of pet hair, and then throw it away. Throw it away? WTF? There's no way they could make one of these so that it opens, you remove the pet hair, and you use it again?!! These people never heard of "reduce, reuse, recycle"?

:wtf:

1. Well THAT sounds stupid.
Ugh. I hate when I fall for something like that.

2. It is stupid. Just a way to make sure people buy a lot of these,
and they all end up in landfills. And they're made of plastic, so they won't break down. The package boast that the box is mad of 85% post consumer content, and the plastic in the sweeper itslef is minimum 5% post industrial recycled content. But they didn't make that plastic so that it could be recycled again. Which doesn't seem like it would've been that hard. Again, just hinge the damn thing so you could take the pet hair out. :grr:

Hell, I could design it myself. I should ask my dad to draw up a blueprint and help me apply for a patent.
