I am supposed to hear from the UC's (Berkeley and LA) on the 26th, from NYU by the end of the month, and Harvard at the end of the month or very beginning of April.

Sometimes thin envelopes mean waitlist. My first envelope from Smith was thin. The second one was fat.

so i tend to ignore that rule. i'll be nervous no matter what size the envelope is! lol

30. I'm partial to UCLA, since it's my alma mater, but I know

you'd be thrilled with Harvard. Hey - I bet you'll get into ALL of them, then you'll have a really really really tough choice to make.

Or, maybe not. If you got into all of them, where would you go?


And on edit: be careful about UCs right now, though, esp. if you're getting a scholarship -- my niece signed an athletic scholarship to a cal state school last year and it will be honored, but kids whose sports don't sign until spring (like soccer, for instance) aren't getting the full ride they were initially promised before signing. California is in a world of hurt right now.

35. the UC's are almost as expensive for me as an out of state student as private schools

like NYU and Harvard.. it's crazy! i've applied for financial aid, and Harvard has an awesome program. as an out of state student, my financial aid at harvard(if accepted) would ironically make it the most affordable school for me, lol. :P

my sister went to NYU (loved it, and I used to visit her there in the late 70s, tons of fun) and a buddy went to Berkeley Law School. (I have always envied folks who went there.) What could be cooler than Berkeley!
