How much should I charge for this?
A friend wants me to take pictures and list a bunch of items on craigslist for him. These are collectibles like Nascar and Hot Wheels cars. What is a good rate to charge for doing something like this? I have no idea.

Thanks. :D

1. Maybe a comission of some sort depending on the value
You don't want to charge more than he makes but some %, say 10% to cover your time. Also at 10% you won't be breaking usury laws like our greedy corporate masters always do.

2. That's what I thought
I'm thinking a percentage of what he makes. I don't know how much these things are worth, it will be up to him to set the prices.

Thanks for your input.

3. Don't expect much - unless they are REALLY rare, they aren't worth that much.

4. Do you have a light box or are you going to have to build one?
Or are you just taking the photos with a P/S?

5. If it's for a friend
why not just do it as a favor?

6. If he had asked, I would have
but he approached me with "want to make some money?" He knows we're hurting (hubby is down to 32 hrs a week). So, since he doesnt' have a computer and would need my camera and computer to do the listing, he knows it would help us out. I just really don't know how much to charge for something like that.

7. Don't know if this would help...
My husband does the same for people on e-Bay. He charges 15 - 20%, but he handles all the shipping.

For family, he only charges them for the shipping.
