2. The local paper here is also having money trouble. I've been getting the Sacramento Bee and
the SF Chronicle ever since i moved here and i cannot imagine starting the day without reading the newspaper.

4. reading it online is just not the same, it's a like a morning ritual for me.
turn the coffee maker on, go out to the front porch and get the newspapers and then have 30 minutes of blissful quiet before they wake up.

When there is only one paper, the paper can slip further into mediocrity. Of course, we're left with the inferior Seattle Times, of course.
