late nite vibes for kitty Keiko, please

This dear fluffy ringtail ginger tabby is having a tough night. He was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in November -- we nearly lost him that night. He has congestive heart failure and is treated with a diuretic but did not tolerate the beta blocker. He has felt much better since that night, but not so much tonight, with some vomiting. He ate a tiny bit of dog food tonight -- would that make him throw up? I can also hear a little wheeze in his respirations; perhaps he has fluid in his chest again. We'll call the vet tomorrow.

So if you find a kind thought for Keiko, much obliged. He is a dearly loved constant companion.

His quality of life has been excellent since his diagnosis. He runs up a flight of stairs multiple times each day, jumps three or four feet high to get on furniture, chases toys, eats, drinks, fusses at the dog, etc. He hasn't been suffering.

in July and we could both live a really long time if they can get his meds regulated.

He's feeling much better today. Actually, as soon as he threw up last night, he was fine -- purring up a storm. I stayed awake until the wee hours checking on him, and he purred and head-butted until about three a.m. This morning he is active and eating. So I guess it was just a tummy ache.
