If I had a conjoined twin and she listened to new country, I'd cut her off of me
and risk bleeding to death or not ending up with one of our shared organs.

The other day I was stuck in line at the store behind some girl singing along with a ridiculous pseudo-southern accent to some piped-in country song. I wanted to grab one of the bags of pretzels combos off the shelf by the checkout and smack her roundly in the head with it.

Then I got home and my neighbor was out in his driveway doing something to his truck (presumably to make it larger and more juggarnaut-like), and he was blasting more crappy country music to help him "focus" or something, I guess. x(

One time I saw Buck Cherry at our Perkins. Unrelated.

3. Pre-70's "country" was actually that - somewhere around Ricky Scaggs - well....
"Well, I loves my country musics.
And I sings it up just swell.
But after Ricky grabbed a mike,
It all just went to hell.

I like my pickup trucks,
and I like the chicks I get.
But this whole country music thing
Has really gone to shit."

For the record, I just made that up in about 30 seconds - like right now, freestyle typing. And I put more thought into it than pretty much anything on a country station these days.

Now, if we're talking Johnny Cash - now THERE is some country music!!!!

9. Oh, I won't complain about Johnny Cash.
Him, I admire.

Garth Brooks, not so much. He's probably not very "new," but he continues to offend.

13. I like Dwight Yoakam all right...
dunno about anyother new country though. Or even if he's still recording. I just know in the 80's, I heard his stuff and thought 'yes'.

7. Ugh! I feel ya. My FIL likes it too. He's in Mensa; It seems a contradiction.
Someone will inevitably get mad at me for saying that.

5. Mrs. Carton likes that stuff.
She doesn't like my music. So when we ride together we compromise with silence, or NPR. On the upside, we've had a lot of good conversations on the road.

6. My husband won't talk to me in the car. He claims it makes him car sick.
I just take it as a valuable opportunity to talk at him incessantly.

Thanks a lot! If you loved me, you wouldn't have even said anything.

Of course if you loved me, you wouldn't have flushed me, either.
