Poll question: What commercial is making you sickest?

What commercial is making you the sickest? I've seen enough of that "Progressive" chick.

1. I hate Geico, not just the ads, the entire company.

I called them for a rate quote, and they gave me a price that was several hundred $s a year more than what I was paying.I turned them down.

Later I was told the Geico issued a report to my insurance co stating they had turned me down for car insurance.

They suck.

34. I had a similar, but worse problem

When I was about 20 yrs old they called me up and offered me insurance that was cheaper than I was paying. I advised them at the time my wife and I each had one ticket within the last 2 yrs. They assured me this was OK and issued the policy. About 1 month later I got a letter from them saying my policy had been cancelled. I called them up and they said it was because I had too many tickets. Since I had now been CANCELLED from an insurance company, nobody else would insure me. Luckily I called my old agent, told him the story, and he took me back at my old rate.

That was decades ago and I still wouldn't insure with Geico even if they paid me. For years I cussed out their telephone solicitors and sent their postage paid envelopes back full of trash.

I wouldn't piss on their Geko if it were on fire.

2. Depends. Which Geico commercials?

If you're talking about the gecko theme, then Geico is the worst. But if you're talking about the caveman or money-with-eyes themes, then Geico is still the worst. They seem to think their shticks are sidesplittingly funny enough to warrant about 591,102,443 of each one.

But you have some great nominations. Flo (the Progressive girl) does not seem funny, but I think her acting would suffice if they had anybody who could write. The freecreditreport.com commercials started out tolerable, but they have A.) gone on too long and B.) are now using music that sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

Apparently Madison Avenue still believes all babies are cute. However, it's not true, the baby in the ad certainly isn't, and the ads aren't funny at all.

Of the choices you give, I go with option #3 - if you want me to take an interest in your product, the most counterproductive thing you could do is to have some asshole sing a stupid, unfunny, none-too-clever song to me.

I had already had it with Flo the Progressive bitch (I use that word because she annoys me, too) with her very first commercial, the one in which she makes a store-wide announcement about a savings of $350.

Lastly, regarding Geico, I might have given this option more consideration if you had been more specific. The gecko ones are stupid but don't bother me much, whereas the cavemen commercials annoy me a lot. The worst: the "good news" commercials in which some dickhead announces that he just saved a bunch of money by switching his car insurance to Geico.

a man shouting in cadence-speak "when I say Hillshire, you say farm. Hillshire." And everyone else yells "Farm." The various people doing the ridiculous rhyming drives me crazy, especially when the word "bourgeoisie" is used. Though the Progressive woman is pretty annoying too.
