Just say NO to TO!
So its been all over the radio here in DC this morning that Dallas is releasing Terrell Owens today.
Of course since Danny Boy Snyder never met a big name he didn't like, they are speculating that the Skins might sign him...I'll tell you what..I've NEVER heard DC talk radio so united in one opinion on this, not only no but HELL NO!
They had to search hard to find someone who thought it would be a good idea and that person was a Ravens fan!
BTW, I heard speculation that the Minnesota Vikings might also be interested..:hide:

1. This just may be my proof that there is a God.
I prayed that the next time I saw TO, it would be on one of those reality shows of the washed-up celebs. Wouldn't that be something? :woohoo:

4. I hope not.
It was just speculation on the radio this morning. I would seriously consider boycotting the Skins if they took TO. I loathe him that much.

5. Funnily, if TO went back to SF, you know who would vociferously
defend him. Probably as voceriferously as he does Barry Bonds!!

8. The next club to sign him are most certainly gluttons for punishment.
San Fran dropped him for his "There is most certainly an 'I' in 'team'" persona.

Philly hated him when he was on the Niners - but when he signed with the Eagles, the reaction was "Oh! But he'll be different NOW. He learned his lesson in San Fran". I, btw, was not one of those idiots. People don't change.

He destroyed the very infrastructure of the Eagles. Locker room fights, taunting his own teammates on the sidelines AND field, and hogging up the media with his antics. Hugh Douglas and Brian Dawkins had to break up fights in the locker room, and give the rest of the team a daily pep rally, in an ill attempt to maintain some sense of solidarity. It didn't work. Laurie dropped him.

Then it's on to Dallas. And what did we hear? "Oh.....he won't do THAT again. He learned his lesson. He doesn't want to burn anymore bridges. He's getting older. He can't be messing around anymore". Uh huh. We see what happened there.

So, who's the next in line to destroy their team from the inside out? Whoever it is, I know that the first quote to come to mind will be "Stupid is as stupid does". Morons.

Okay - my TO rant for the day is done. :P Oh - and one more thing.....

If the purple people-eaters pick him up, that team will be DTBB!!!!! :hide:

6. He'd make Washington better. I don't know why Minnesota would want him
since they don't even have a QB.

Gonna be a rough year for the Cowboys. The whole team at the end of last year criticized Jason Garret and the lack of a workable offensive scheme. So naturally they keep Garret and get rid of the one offensive threat they had. I can't wait to see more third string rookie running backs trying to run the ball up the middle to protect a three point lead with 58 minutes left in the game.

Oh well. I'm also a Saints fan, so at least I can cheer for them.

On the other hand, at least I won't care about not having a big screen TV this season.

20. He's not an idiot, but he's lost his skill.
He won three Super Bowls in four years under two different head coaches, after building the team from one of the worst in the history of the league in just a couple of seasons. He had a pretty good team at the end of the Parcells era, too, and they would have been good last year with a decent coach. Now, though, he's breaking them up. He traded a starting corner--one of the most underrated in the league--for a backup QB who sucks as bad as the guy they cut. He's sticking with Garret and Philips despite a colossal underachievement failure last year. He traded too much for Roy Williams and then kept the coaches who didn't even use him. And now he's cutting one of the two most powerful offensive weapons they have--and the other, Marion Barber, isn't an every-down back, no matter how often they run him.

He's not an idiot, but he can't do it anymore, either.

24. Not a shock there. He didn't work well with the 3-4 system they use now.
I hope he goes somewhere he can be useful. I'm thinking he and TO should go to Detroit with Anthony Henry, then they can be the Cowboys-in-Exile, and probably do better than the other Cowboys this year.

On the other hand, he was bargain basement and they couldn't even trade him, so a lot of teams are down on him.

Jones's problem now is he's letting the media and public opinion pick his team. I think he's so far gone now that he doesn't even know what a good coach sounds like in an interview. I give him credit for picking Philips over Norv Turner, though.

Eh, I've got a lot of theories on Jones. I won't bore you further.

32. Says they play in a tougher conference.
The Chargers were 8-8 and won their division. The Cowboys were 9-7 and came in third in theirs. Neither one should be overly proud, considering their talent base. But San Diego might have two Super Bowl rings if they hadn't fired Marty Wassisname. Then again, the Cowboys might have been the team they played if they hadn't driven away Parcells.

27. He's not all bad. He did hire The King for a couple of years.
It was fun watching all of Texas squirm with Switzer at the helm.

btw, I've been a lifelong fan of the Cowboys. I just think the NFL passed JJ by and he still has not noticed. At least they have a new stadium this year.

19. The media would, and then they'd blame it on Owens.
He's a media-created boogeyman. Most of the Cowboys love him, and even the reports of his struggles with Romo are misleading. He and Romo both blamed Garret at the end of the season, not each other. Owens stays out of trouble, keeps in top shape, and practices hard. He talks too much, but he performs, too. He's no worse than Randy Moss, or Clinton Portis, or DeAngelo Hall (to throw in a couple of Washingtoners). A good coach can handle him. The problem is handling the media around him (and the fact that the Cowboys don't have a good coach). Fiction writers like Ed Werder use Owens on a slow week to sell stories, and that creates a lot more havoc than TO himself does.

Washington could do worse. And usually does.

From multiple sources it seems that many in Dallas wanted him gone...INCLUDING ROMO

28. That article is what I'm talking about. What does it really say?
There's no quote in that story, no sources, no hint of evidence, only words like "seems" and "apparently."

I'm sure there were people who wanted Owens gone. The media swarms around him, he's a distraction. But the media's bias is plain. The final two weeks of the game Romo blasted Jason Garret, and Owens was critical of Garret. Yet the story remains that Romo loves Garret and that he and TO were on different pages.

Sports media is just like the political media. They writes the story, then they finds facts to fits the story. And if the facts don't fit, they make 'em up.

29. Considering that what the media reports
fits with his well known behavior with McNabb and Garcia...I very much believe that ROMO was pressuring Jones to get rid of him. His dislike of Owens was VERY obvious during the game the Boys lost to the Skins in Dallas.

36. Just like Gore's lying fit the pattern of Gore's lying
The later stories fit the earlier stories because they were written by the same people all trying to prove their own worth.

I've got no reason to like or hate TO, I just hate the media. They don't write the story, they are the story, and they destroy or build based only on what they want. The make heroes out of people like A-Rod and goats out of people like Bonds, when both were about equal. They do the same thing with TO. They get paid to make people scream at the TV, not to report the facts.

13. I'm not so sure of that
Moss is difficult and selfish but he doesn't seem to be self destructive to an entire team the way TO is...Its noticeable that he's been on very talented teams that have consistently underachieved due to his ways for several years after his arrival....
But hey, if you want him, who am I to argue. One less NFC playoff contending team to compete agaisnt..;)

going so far as to play a home* game up there this season (it's only 90 mi./155km away).

So there's your slogan, similar to Baltimore's old "Don't Tampa With Our Colts!".
