4. Here's what you do, Pri: be the kind of friend who isn't afraid to inquire and show love.

I did not intend to post about this at DU ever, and I'm doing it only because you are a light, Pri, and this may help you to more fully be the kind of woman you ARE.

9. I do hesitate and I know I shouldn't. His 30-minute funeral will include this song,
Edited on Thu Mar-05-09 12:56 PM by Heidi
which I consider his gift to all of us:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P22cMZFvJAs

Forever Young
May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

19. Pri, looking for a source to blame is one of the natural stages of grieving.
Some cancers can grow unbelievably quickly. Some grow so quickly that an oncologist won't even order a biopsy, for fear of the cancer spreading. I don't know your friend's situation, but just _be_ kindness and pure intent right now. That's what's really important.

18. Cancer.gov
If she wants information on clinical trials go here:
http://www.cancer.gov/Templates/doc.aspx?viewid=7C5CCBC9-ADAD-4683-8448-E705FB912971
Do a search with as much information as you/she knows and take the list to her oncologist.
Get a second opinion, no matter what and especially if she doesn't have confidence in her doctor.
Be a friend, give her support, cry with her.
I'm sorry

double mastectomy for locally advanced bc 18 months ago, and she's fine. It was her second occurrence. It sucks, but she's still going and that's what you have to be thankful for.

Pri, you come across as a wonderful friend, just continue to be that friend, and tell her how much you love her.
