2. Stay home from school tomorrow,

take your pain pills on time, and sleep. If the pain pills arent working for you, call the oral surgeon in the morning (some take Friday afternoons off.) You will get better, honest!

8. Make some soothingly cool gazpacho!
From this site:
http://www.articlealley.com/article_196312_17.html

Another great recipe for the blender is you want to make a delicious gazpacho!

2 ripe tomatoes cut into big pieces

1/2 cup chopped parsley or coriander

2 tbsp breadcrumbs

1 avocado, sliced

3 tbsp lemon juice

3 cloves garlic, finely chopped

1 cup of tomato juice

1 cup of ice-cold water

2 tsp Tabasco or chili sauce

Salt, pepper, and dried herbs to taste

Throw everything in the blender and watch it go. This delicious soup tastes absolutely amazing! I usually add just a little more hot sauce to mine but that’s just the way I like it… I like it hot. I might also add some crushed red pepper flakes after I have blended it. You can serve this soup cold so it’s great for leftovers too, no need for a microwave.

4. I felt that way when I had my wisdom teeth out.
I'm still alive 19 years later, although I felt like someone had beat the crap out of me for four or five days afterward.

If the pain pills and you aren't working out call your oral surgeon and let her/him know. It's hard when you're doing something all day where you can't take the pills, because staying ahead of the pain is a lot easier than trying to catch up with it.

It's only a few days more and it will all be over and you will feel MUCH better. Hang in there, greenbriar!

11. I hope you are able to stay home today
You are having a much harder time of it than I remember. I got mine done years ago during a week's break at college so I didn't have to keep up with any work or social life. I was all swollen up and, like you, starving, inconvenienced by the fact that I could not open my mouth more than a half an inch. Out of desperation I did manage with great effort one night to wedge a piece of pizza far enough into my mouth to do a rabbit-chew with my frontish teeth on it and I got it down. My room-mate found this hilarious and, well, eventually, I did too. But I think that the lack of food, protein especially, combined with the drugs might have something to do with how crappy you are feeling. Maybe you should try some Ensure or Boost? There is a Boost Diabetic that is not as alarmingly sweet as the regular stuff and I think it tastes better.

Take your temperature periodically to check that no infection is brewing. And if there is any elevation or worsening of the pain at the extraction site, you have to get back to a doc and get antibiotics pronto. Unless they already prescribed them? And if the drugs aren't equal to the pain, get better drugs. You don't want to go through a weekend without some kind of backup plan.

That being said, I hope you are better now. Oral pain is a special hell.

12. thank you all. Today Friday, I actually made it through the day
I had a smoothie Strawberry and bananas

a Chocolate Malt

and getting ready to eat some really thin roast beef deli sandwitch slices.

I believe you were right, that part of the reason I felt so badly was because I couldn't eat anything and the pain meds were making me shaky

but the smoothies and malts helped!!!

I am still very sore, but I don't feel so bad now
