Is there an opposite to anal retentive or obsessive compulsive?
I remember that movie with Julia Roberts "Sleeping with the Enemy" where her psycho husband would put everything in perfect order and in the same order every time, and I know something like that is being anal or obsessive compulsive.

What is the opposite of that?

I ask, because sometimes it's almost like a game where my wife puts things away in a different location almost every time. I mean, I remember last year, I counted one of my daughter's t-shirts as having been put away in six different drawers over the span of a few months... I know she does not do it intentionally, I think she just decides that where she puts something is a good new place for it to be stored. It drives me bonkers sometimes to look for a pot or pan or a towel or whatnot, only to find it in a new location.

I'm not even that anal or obsessive compulsive or anything, but I don't mind a bit of consistency, either.

1. Perhaps a form of passive aggressiveness?
You know, doing things that drive others crazy, but with plausible deniability?

4. I don't think she does it to drive me crazy
at least intentionally, as I don't bring it up to her that often.

3. It's just being messy, and perhaps feeling scattered.
I used to be very anal, to the point of keeping meticulous records, and cloroxing the house every weekend.

Now I can't remember what I ate yesterday.

7. everyone will be screwed when the senior moments start!
My mother decided after hearing about a break-in somewhere to find more secure hiding places and then could not remember most of them when time came to retrieve them.
