Who uses linkedin and what is your opinion on its usefulness?

I really like it. Aside from being able to stay in touch with former colleagues, I got the inside track on worthy jobs on two occasions, and indirectly got one through LinkedIn. Everybody behaves, and there's lots of recent enhancements that make it a cool place to hang out.

None of the colleagues whom I invited ever complained about joining up, which says a lot.

11. I "joined", but have found it to be of limited use. It seems more like a chance to

spam people. I wouldn't bother with it. There are more traditional ways of networking, that are much more effective.

12. I use it because my grad school uses it for discussions/networking instead of Facebook.

I haven't really used it for anything beyond that yet.
