So here's what just happened to me

I have an ex that I have been talking to since July. We dated about 10 years ago and did not talk at all during the last 10 years. Turns out we have alot in common and now this person is legally separated. We have been talking about getting together for a visit (we live in different cities). Lately we have been talking about alot of personal stuff. Just today it was revealed that they have had a sexual fantasy about me for years and years. (No I won't tell you what it is! :) ) I am not sure what to think about this. We were close then and seem to be now so I don't think this is just about trying to get something. What should i think? :shrug:

Rules on such matters are stupid. All this "You shouldn't hook up with an ex" or whatever is just someone else's noise.

On the other hand, two things. First, I'd worry about them being separated. There's a lot of play in that word. Sometimes it is quite legite, other times it's sort of a wiggly thing. They say "separated," but what they mean is that it's like they are separated, like they don't even talk, or more importantly to them have great sex anymore. And that's assuming they aren't outright lying. Make sure you know.

Second, I would worry about the gaming someone mentioned above. It's not always gaming--sometimes people maintain a fantasy for years, and then when they are faced with fulfilling it, they discover that they aren't interested in it in real life. It was just a fantasy to keep them warm, or else just a thought left over from a different era. You could wind up meeting them and have them pull back (not just sexually) at the last minute.

Or you could discover everything you ever wanted in life. :) Just vaccinate yourself against the pain in case it isn't what you expect.
