I just had to return a video I had out for two months. I just forgot I had it, and finally the video store called me about it.

Luckily the owner was a nice guy and wiped out most of the overcharges.

What is your record for an overdue video?

Paying overdue fees sucks, Especially when it was a crummy movie to begin with.

2. I had 6 videos for a couple years.
I rented them for over the Xmas holidays and the place burned down before I returned them.

Actually, I missed the news and returned them to find a pile of ashes. They were shitty movies too. I finally took them to a new shop a couple years later and turned them in. No fine.

4. My daughter kept one out
for I don't know HOW long, and came up with 60-some dollars in fines that the place would NOT waive or even negotiate on. That was 2 years ago!

I continue to rent at that place using my other phone number for my ID. I'm not going to pay it (my daughter IS 20 years old, after all), and I'm not going to battle my daughter over it. I've got more important things to think about.

And now that I AM thinking about it, I realize that it was a movie that she had rented for a school project - it wasn't even 'just for fun.'
