I bought the permit for having pod/cubes put on the street, rented flashing barriers, got boxes, and have been packing. Oh, and I've hired a crew at each point to help move the furniture. My knees are screaming and I'm on steroids for a respiratory crud thing.

5. Dangerously Amused and a friend are coming over

to help get the sofa out of the house. We had to take apart the door frame to get it in here. The movers couldn't get my old sofa in the front door, so it sat on the curb with a "free" sign on it the day I moved in. The one I bought fits, but only if DA is in one of her determined moods. ;)


(it would take the movers most of the time they're here to get this sofa out. Gotta love 90 year old houses and small doorways. We'll get it moved to the garage and covered so they can get everything else in the pods.)

I'll try to get pics of the couch move. There's a window in the stairwell. At one point (moving the couch in) she had one foot on the windowsill and the other bracing the opposite wall. She should have been a gymnast... Wiry and funny and someone I'm going to miss terribly. x(

Me ??? I'm waiting for the phone to ring! :) My business is insured for $1,000,000 liability. My Jeep is fully equipped, gassed up and ready to roll. I'm packing two small overnight bags ... 1 if I'm heading north (maybe it's time for me to apply for a visa to make any business trips into/thru Canada easier) and a 2nd bag if I'm lucky enough to be heading south. I got my very 1st call to work last Friday morning but by the time I would have been able to deadhead 6 hours to Bethel Maine the load would have been stuck at a truck stop on Sat & Sun so I missed the job. x( I want to be ready to walk out of the door within 15/30 minutes of getting the job.

We? are waiting to find out how the Madoff screwup is going to pan-out for us. :shrug: Will we be forced to sell our home of 13 years in a huge hurry or will we be able to hold on until the housing market turns around?
