2. I am sorry to hear about that.
I know that it is hard to understand. Depression is such a killer, and so hard to determine.

15. having depression myself
I know of what he might have felt

I also know that a permanent solution to a temporary problem is irrational, and therefore he was in a terrible state of mind to have come to that conclusion.

21. You are right, SPK
there are no fast solutions. Suicide is not the answer, and it hurts so many other people.

23. true enough
I know how that feeling and thinking is though, it is a clarity of vision that takes over, and sanity has to creep through to snap one out of it.

5. God, I'm sorry.
Suicide leaves so many unanswered questions behind, not the least of which is 'what could I have done?'

The answer is nothing.

17. I know
and it is only that I think that part of the reason he did it is that he had an alcohol problem, I might have been able to help there, but then again, might now, no way to know, wasn't in the cards.

Not going to go down the guilt road, and I just feel badly for those who will wrestle with this for a lifetime... and they will

Having put his demons to rest. Perhaps that is something to hold on to.

25. SPKrazy, I'm so sorry for your loss
You are not alone. Relatives of mine have lost family members to suicide in the worst ways, and there is nothing to say except it hurts like hell, and I'm so sorry.

My great great nephew was happy go lucky too until one day he broke up with his girlfriend. He ate dinner with his family, went upstairs, lifted weights for awhile and then hung himself.

I'm so sorry for what you are going through.

I just hope you are not alone. It's normal to be totally confused when things like this happen.

My heart goes out to you and your loved ones.

28. thanks
I hadn't seen him in a long time, was on facebook and saw someone posted he'd died. Then today I was told that he killed himself.

He was a great guy when I knew him, and I suspect he still was. I don't know what demons haunted him, but like others have said, he can put those to rest.

I feel for his family, and am praying for them.

thanks

because I lost my father in this way.

I am sorry for your loss.

There are Suicide Survivors groups in most major cities. They help

29. I'm sorry for your loss
I've known a good handful of people who killed themselves. It's always a shock, despite the fact that I can see how it might happen, I also don't understand the mindset of when it does happen.

Very sad thing.

This is one of those sad but meaningful threads that I wish was on General Discussion because it just seems so important to me that everyone sees it. Sorry for blabbing on, but I just really appreciate posts like this and feel they are very, very important for everyone to see.

32. Now it's OFFICIALLY creepy
My friend, whose death I also just heard about via FB, was also a suicide. His visitation is tomorrow.

In high school, he was also the happy go lucky type.

What a fucked up world we live in.

Sorry that you have to.

Has to be just horrible for family and loved ones, and a terrible way for someone to die. Pain and sorrow all the way around. What a tragedy.
