Mrs. V. has to have not-minor surgery on her wrist.
You may remember that not too long ago she fell off a ladder and broke her wrist.

It didn't heal right - no fault of the ortho specialist - and now it requires surgery.

She has to have bone removed from the ends of both arm bones, and four bones fused together.

 I hate to see her in pain.

1. Oh, shit, Bertha...
Wow. That really sucks, I'm sorry :( Lotsa vibes for quick healing and not too much pain headed her way, and  for you both.

5. Ouch!
:hug:s to both you and Mrs. V. I broke my wrist this summer and had to have surgery after it didn't heal right, but it only required some hardware. Hurt like hell, though, but I'm pretty sure that was because they decided to give me Percocet instead of Vicodin (even though I had done fine on Vicodin when I had to have ankle surgery a few weeks earlier), and Percocet did absolutely nothing for the pain at all. Anyway, I hope Mrs. V's surgery will go smoothly, and that she gets pain medication that works for her - which I'm sure she will, since I'm apparently just a freak of nature. ;)  Best wishes!
