What TV series had the best musical soundtrack?
Edited on Thu Mar-12-09 03:30 PM by TheMightyFavog
Hands down, Gotta be Cowboy Bebop. Yeah, I know, it's anime, but the soundtrack is nonetheless awesome. Jazz, blues, even a bit of crappy J-pop and even metal.

Besides, Yoko Kanno, who composed many of the tracks put together an awesome band called The Seatbelts for the jazz tracks. One of the drummers, Al Foster, used to beat the skins for Miles Davis.

I think that might have been the episode where Bartlett reveals to the public that he has MS.

where they go to a "Rock the Vote" rally and Aimee Mann is performing there. :loveya:

And the music playing when Zoey Bartlet gets kidnapped.... Massive Attack's "Angel" I think.

11. Northern Exposure
Excellent eclectic mix, with a healthy heapin' of zydeco. I have both soundtrack CDs.

Also Gilmore Girls (have that soundtrack CD too) and WKRP in Cincinnati--curses that they didn't get licensing for all the tunes for the DVD release. :(

As soon as the theme music came on, our German Shepherd would just throw her head back and begin to howl and yodel.
No other, just the Andy Griffith Show.

37. Frank's Place
in fact, as with WKRP, the major obstacle to re-releasing the short-lived CBS series set in a New Orleans restaurant has been licensing the music. In the case of Frank's Place, much of it consisted of original works by Louisiana artists.

You have so many amazing people involved. Yoko Kanno, Mai Yamane, Steve Conte, and Tim Jensen.

Blue, Green Bird, and Call Me, Call Me are honestly three of my most favorites ever. :D

Six Feet Under and True Blood must get honorable mentions though. ;)
