Poll question: SEC Football Poll (Pick A winner)
All right, the best conference in college football is about to begin Spring Practice. As we go for our 4th BCS championship in 5 years, which team will take the title at the Georgia Dome?Only had 10 spaces for the teams, if you are a Kentucky or Mississippi State football fan,I am amazed.

5. Go back to the ACC
If you want basketball. For football, the ACC is the witness protection program for Athletic Talent. Good Athletes go in and are never heard from again.

27. Florida returns all 11 defensive starters, 7 starters on O and both kickers....
even returns all 11 2nd team defensive guys. Also, the QB, what's his name, returns.

LSU has recruited the 2nd best roster in the conference the past 4 years, just behind Florida. If their QB problems of last season are solved as appeared in their beat down of Ga Tech in the bowl game, they'll be good to very good. Arky could be very good returning about 17 starters and their transfer QB from Mich. Ole Miss returns much and star QB, Snead. Bama, depends on the new QB.

You roll-tiders never cease to amaze me....

Regardless, it's always good to talk SEC football. Hope your team's spring practice is uneventful.

19. That fantasy land
Edited on Fri Mar-13-09 10:48 AM by rolltideroll
Got me through Bill Curry, Mike Shula, Coach Fran, and Mike Price getting fired after a week because he bought a hooker with a university credit card. My delusions make it possible to deal with the disaster our program went through.

25. Every team has that kind of year...
Edited on Fri Mar-13-09 11:11 AM by RT Atlanta
My team's was last year and the "Tony Franklin System" (compounded by several years of Tommy T resting on his past accomplishments rather than continuing to recruit like his job depended on it).

4. "Coach may have a learning disability" LOL!
I don't follow the SEC that much..Am an ACC person but I have to admit that Lane Kiffin is a hoot. I don't think Tennessee is gonna win anything but the big mouth award...

6. Why talk trash?
Edited on Fri Mar-13-09 10:33 AM by rolltideroll
This guy Kiffin takes over a program in Free fall, then, after losing prospects to your chief conference rival following the departure of a 17 year coach, and following a humiliating year that was capped by a home loss to Kentucky on Phil Fulmer day ( the retiring head coach at UT)he decides to accuse the national champs of cheating. I gotta admire the fact he told Urban to get his shine box, however.

15. Kentucky was Phil Fulmer day
Edited on Fri Mar-13-09 10:34 AM by EastTennesseeDem
They capped the season with bittersweet wins over Kentucky and Vanderbilt. Wyoming was the straw that broke the camel's back. Worst game day experience of my life.

This is a bad time to be a student, but I'd be a bad student if I picked anyone other than the Vols.

16. You are correct sir
Like your attitude, I have stuck with Bama through some pretty tough times, brought on by our different reading of the "rules"I just gotta ask, What the hell happened at that Wyoming game?

20. The team didn't
A.) have a quarterback
B.) give a damn
C.) have an offensive coordinator

A and C led to B. The secondary was phenomenal and will be even better this coming season, while the defensive line was solid. There just was no offensive firepower because we had the most godawful piece of trash to ever wear a headset calling West Coast offense from the press box. Just so you know, the West Coast offense requires NFL experience and an NFL mind. It never works in college, and Fulmer somehow didn't realize that when he hired Clawson.

And I just pray that what Lane Kiffin is doing can light a fire under Jonathan Crompton's ass. I hate his big mouth, but if it leads to one of our quarterbacks playing like a quarterback, then it was worth it.

Hey, Utah ran all over us with it. The Utah game is one of the most humiliating losses I have every sat through.

23. Well, to be fair
Whittingham was an assistant under Lavell Edwards, who invented the West Coast Offense. I guess it's just the imitators that suck.

7. What I am wondering
Is if, when you look at LSU's situation, the wheels have not came off that bus completely.Les Miles destroyed that athletically loaded team by horrible coaching calls, and now has a losing record to Arkansas. No offense, but talent to product wise, LSU was a disaster last year. LSU fans have never seemed sold on the hire, and I think if he loses 6 they are going to can him.

The new Alex Box looks to be a nice facility, though. One day, I'll get down there and see it in person.

24. looks
like it's going to be the battle of the boot in this pole. Personally I think Arkansas will finally come on strong with a good passing game this season. (it's been a while since they've had someone capable of passing the ball consistently)

would be the Big Ten.

Are you also an SEC apologist??
