I loathe my brand new Canon MP620 printer at this very moment. I want to physically strangle every person who posted a positive review of it on the internet. What a hunk of junk!

To me, these damned things are pretty much one time use. I can't tell you how many printers I go through in a year.

They are screaming fast flatbed multi-function machines and of all the ink jets I've ever owned or dealt with, I think it is best of class for daily use. As for laser jets, I've got an HP 1020 and an HP P1006 and they are both reliable workhorses. I've got mixed feelings about the HP C7280. It is really fast in draft mode and has a sheet feeder for the copier/fax, but sometimes it takes it about a month to make noises and move things around and play with ink cartridges before it will do ANYTHING! On the plus side, it has the individual color cartridges so you don't have to replace something that still has ink in it.

Whatever you do, avoid Brother printers!!!!

3. I have 2 Canons - never had a problem

I have a MP 780 combination printer, fax, scanner at home and another Canon (they used Canon 40/41 ink) at the office. They are wonderful.
