Favorite Cartoon...full length, or short film, or both..

For me, Rabbit Season, with Bugs and Daffy, and let us not forget Elmer, makes me laugh, always

For a full length toon, Iron Giant is my favorite..:)

14. "Bully For Bugs"
Edited on Sat Mar-14-09 08:40 PM by bluesbassman
On his way to the Coachella Valley for the "big carrot festival, therein," Bugs Bunny gets lost in a bullring in the middle of a bullfight between Toro the bull and a very nervous matador. Bugs famously declares he "shoulda make a left toin at Albuqoique". As he asks the matador for directions, the matador escapes into the stands, leaving Bugs to fend for himself against Toro. After irritating Bugs and getting a slap for "steaming up my tail," Toro rams the rabbit out of the bullring, Bugs muttering his famous line, "Of course you realize, dis means war".

15. Popeye: "Eugene, The Jeep"
A little dog called Eugene the Jeep, gifted to Popeye by Olive Oil. She attaches a note: "Make sure he sleeps outside." Popeye keeps putting him outside and every time he comes back into the house and closes the door, Eugene is sleeping in his bed.

It's one of the classic black & white Fleisher Popeye cartoons, and my single all-time favorite...especially when Popeye opens Eugene's crate and exclaims "Well blow me down...a baby puppy!"

27. A Jeep is a Jeep, not a puppy...
"A Jeep is an animal living in a three dimensional world-in this case our world- but really belonging to a fourth dimensional world. Here's what happened. A number of Jeep life cells were somehow forced through the dimensional barrier into our world. They combined at a favorable time with free life cells of the African Hooey Hound. The electrical vibrations of the Hooey Hound cell and the foreign cell were the same. They were kindred cells. In fact, all things are, to some extent, relative, whether they be of this or some other world, now you see. The extremely favorable conditions of germination in Africa caused a fusion of these life cells. So the uniting of kindred cells caused a transmutation. The result, a mysterious strange animal."

24. "Ali Babba Bunny" would be my favorite animated short
"What's Opera Doc?" is certainly worthy.

Full length get's tough:

"Fantasia" is still a crown jewel. Amazing animation (all hand drawn) combined with superb music. I can't, however, say it's my favorite Disney animated film. You can also make compelling arguments for "Toy Story", "Finding Nemo", and "Beauty & The Beast" in terms of what is the best full-length animated ever made. Some would also throw "Yellow Submarine" into that mix for the sheer imagination of the whole thing.

My favorite, however, is "The Emperor's New Groove." I laugh like heck every time I see it.

Like a short morality play, Froggy jumps smoothly from one idea to another, and you will

30. Metropolis (anime), Secret of NIMH, Iron Giant, Fox and the Hound, Nightmare Before Christmas...
Wall-E, of course, if computer animated counts.
As for shorts? I think 'What's Opera, Doc?' is the best ever, personally. More for the visual style than anything else.
I also really like Court-martial sequence from 'Heavy Metal,' just because the list of charges is hilariously awful. Like, to actually picture this very heroic looking guy doing all of these awful things...heh.

But Metropolis and Secret of NIMH are hands down my all-time favorite animated films.

One for LOL funny and the other for sheer beauty

shorts: 'Rabbit of Seville' 'Rabbit Season' definitely but it is so hard to choose from the Warner Brothers archive.

OH don't know the name of it BUT Porky and Sylvester are on a road trip, on a dark and stormy night and Porky pulls in to this strange looking creepy house/hotel. They check in.

Porky falls asleep, but all the mice who inhabit the place decide to drive Sylvester crazy, which they do quite well. They scare the poor cat half to death.

Just the best antiwar movie out there. What gets you is the details, like how the firebombs don't explode immediately. They fall from the sky into the town center, smolder for a while, then explode.
