Now I know I'm getting old

Here it is, Saturday night, people are celebrating St. Patrick's Day, there is a great national Blues act in town tonight (Debbie Davies), and I'm sitting here contemplating going to sleep after two Smithwick's. I even have a little extra money tonight and I'm still going to sleep. Oh well, such is the life of a middle aged man. Work, shower, eat, a beer or two, and sleep. But then again, I've celebrated St. Paddy's day many times, I've seen Ms. Davies before, and drinking too much beer is harmful to one's health. So maybe this ageing thing isn't so bad after all.

maybe not exciting but, I am peaceful and content. I have had enough Drama in my life. Boring is kind of cool if you ask me.

And I am staying as far away from it as possible tonight. I didn't fall asleep until 3:00 am last night, and I'm hoping to be in bed by 10. I look more forward to 8 hours of sleep than 8 hours of fun.

7. I am rather old

but tomorrow, the local Irish pub is holding an Irish open mike.

I plan to go and maybe even perform. I have done a few tunes at open mike there before, with a somewhat warm reception.

All my life, I always loved to sing, and I am not too terrible, if I do say so myself. This place actually hires folks from the open mike to perform a regular show once and a while. Maybe I can actually have a second career of singing Irish songs om a pub.

(Probably not, But it would be fun.)
