The omelet, I mean. The coffee needs some company, after all. :D

9. I was experimenting this morning.
Edited on Sun Mar-15-09 09:49 AM by hippywife
I made a plain sharp cheddar frittata and cut it in strips. I laid each strip into a warmed spelt tortillas and topped with sauteed bits of ham steak, baby bella slices, a couple of spears of asparagus, and some crumbled goat cheese, rolled 'em up. It was good but I should have thought ahead and made a hollandaise to go with it. I was just making it up as I went so I didn't think of that first.

Yours sounds yummy. :hi:

:bounce:

I could eat it with a spoon, too. LOVE it on asparagus!

Actually, I can't go anywhere today. You see, I left my car door open yesterday. I was unloading a bunch of stuff and went over to get it out of the passenger side after I had already opened the driver side. Walked past it in the garage this morning and went :wtf: ... Yeah, the battery is nearly dead. I'll have to take a rain check. But thanks anyway! :hi:

27. Well, it would have been nice
but a long drive over to OK. And I was gonna teach you how to make your own cream goat cheese, too.

Bummer about the car. I do stupid stuff like that all the time these days. Too many things on the mind. I'm sure that's why it happened to you, too.

29. Aw, jeez!
A totally missed opportunity! x( OK, I MUST know how to make cream goat cheese. Do you make it like yogurt cheese (strain yogurt through cheese cloth)? :9

WAY too many things, you're right. I have a small car and had all I could do to cram everything into it. I was relieved to get everything home safely. It's a convertible, so it doesn't have a very big dome light -- just a little something on the mirror that you can't even see unless it's totally dark outside. Not much to really alert me. Oh well. I finally learned how to hook it up to the battery charger.

35. Yep.
I make my own yogurt and sometimes I use raw goats milk so I can make cheese. Very, very easy as you already know. This time I'm going to add just a tad pinch of salt to it.

I hope you get your car running. I'd have totally missed that little light, too. Amazing how something so small can sap so much energy.

36. Oh, cool!
I don't know where I can get raw goats milk, but I can get pasteurized at the store. Definitely will make some cheese! :9 That's GOT to be cheaper than Chavrie! Thanks for the tip about the salt.

My car will get going. If the battery refuses to charge completely, I'll take it back to where I bought it. It's still under warranty, after all. Seems like everything on a car saps the energy. My problem is that I don't drive it enough. When harleydad is home, I take the minivan everywhere because it holds a lot more stuff. So it's really my fault for neglecting my little car.

37. oh peanut butter on hot toast is soo good. High in protein, quick, and tasty
I buy Thompson lite whole grain English Muffins because they are low in WW points and use about 2 teaspoons of peanut butter.

Most mornings I have steel cut oatmeal but I knew there would be coffecake or something in Sunday School so I ate less this morning.

The coffee was good too.

19. Yes ... since about Wednesday.
I went out in it yesterday. Wasn't too bad, but I don't like that so many people don't turn their lights on . It's hard to see grey cars in the rain! Going to rain tomorrow, too. I've had enough of it! But at least we got our gutters up before it started.

I need to go out for a few more things, but I killed my car's battery last night. :banghead:

It was just dumb. And to think, I just got a new alternator because I was having trouble keeping the battery charged. (Yeah, they tested both and said it was the alternator.) And I should have driven it a long way to give it a really good charge. But I didn't want to drive in the weather yesterday so I just went to Lowe's and came home ... and THEN left the door open. :eyes:

33. It's on a charger now.
Not a problem. At least I paid attention on Friday when my contractor hooked it up for me and I remembered how to do it.

I wasn't in a hurry. Just tired. I bought all the stuff for the ceiling and brought it home except for the drywall. So my car was full of lights, paper for the floors, paint, etc. I mean, it was LOADED. I filled my shopping cart to the brim and then some. Fortunately, it stopped raining long enough for me to load it. I had two lights in the front passenger seat and on the floor. Had no room for groceries.

22. It was very good
I fell asleep last night without putting it in the fridge so I felt I should eat it asap before it goes bad.

One of the best breakfasts I have ever had was when on the advice of a relative I had enchiladas for breakfast. I made some chicken enchiladas with some Mexican rice and refried beans, great stuff. I heard tamales are great in the morning too. :)

I don't normally like enchiladas or tamales. I LOVE burritos, though. They are awesome for breakfast! They're easy to make for a crowd, too ... not like we've had a crowd lately.

Good plan on the fetuccini alfredo. I would do something like that.
