Cleaned the garage, organized the tools,
arranged to have the basement ceiling put up ...

What else can I do to surprise harleydad before he comes home? (Learning pole dancing is out because I have no pole.) I'm playing my own version of "While you were out." :D

:bounce:

1. When is he due back?
I thought you had fixed that wonderful breakfast because he was home.

2. Sometime next week.
They wanted him to stay extra, so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to do a nice surprise for him. :bounce:

Nah ... he HATES Chavrie cheese. Won't go near it. Come to think of it, he doesn't like apple butter, either. His idea of breakfast is pancakes with eggs over medium between them, smothered with corned beef hash. He can get it at a greasy spoon. I won't make it for him. :puke: Normally, he eats oatmeal.

3. Dude! That sounds nasty.
He is weird. :D Oatmeal is not my favorite, either. I know it is good for you but, sheesh.

4. I can barely stand to watch it.
 I'm surprised he doesn't die on the spot from clogged arteries. Hey, maybe that's why I don't go out to breakfast with him very often.

He loves oatmeal. Actually, he eats healthy stuff most of the time. Just not that particular breakfast, which he only eats a few times a year.

You won't have to eat oatmeal here.

7. When I was a kid ...
Dad used to buy powdered skim milk and mix it up with only half the recommended amount of milk. So it was more like water than milk. We poured it over our "cheerioats." :puke:

I used to trade sandwiches, cookies, fruit, anything I could, for extra milk at school. We called that "real milk." Now I only buy organic whole milk.

10. Hello there -
I'm not much of a poster these days - I stop by to read when I can and your OP jumped out at me - I so need to clean my version of a garage, it is just junked up and full of empty boxes and "stuff". Your OP inspires me, I should go clean it but it is raining and that makes me lazier than normal. :silly:

Hope you are well. :loveya:

11. Neither am I.
I'm glad we happened to be here at the same time today.

Got an iPod? That's what gets me going. LOVE to listen to music while I'm doing stuff like that. Garages are always a pain. Glad I could inspire you. Rainy days are perfect for such projects.

Thank you. I hope you are well too. :loveya:

16. Nope.
We have walls instead. And wouldn't those poles be too big around? I'd fall and crack my head on the concrete! Ouch! x(

I'm thinking of getting one of those chin-up bars that you bolt onto the joist ... but that wouldn't be quite as sexy as a pole would be.

20. I'll give you $100 if you'll come do mine.
We added a carport a couple of years ago so we could turn the attached garage into a big utility/laundry/sewing/storage room.
So far the 'plan' is all we've got.
There's so much crap and junk piled out there that I hate to even go in the room.
:scared:

22. **sigh**
I know exactly what you mean. We had cabinets and storage shelves in our old house. Without those, junk just piles up in the boxes. So I finally bought some cabinets for harleydad's birthday ... months ago! He put some stuff in them, but never really finished. Even WITH the cabinets, it can be tricky to figure out where to put stuff. My method is to charge up the iPod and dig right in.

Wish I could help you, but there ain't enough money in the world to make me do it again.
