They're kind of boring. Give me a good dog any day.
Dogs are better than cats in almost every way. The only reason you should choose a cat over a dog is 'allergy,' otherwise, you are missing out on the best pet there is.
There is nothing better than a pet dog. And no, it's not my baby, it's my dog. A dog is a friend and companion, not a child. Dogs love unconditionally, and they don't demand the newest and coolest stuff, they just want you to pat them on the head and give them a steak every now and then.
Cats are just kind of cute and can meow. Sometimes they catch mice, which is badass, but dogs are still cooler.
DOGS FTW.

But being half-dog is just showing that even cats wish they were dogs.

However it's weird you say "the only reason you should choose a cat over a dog is 'allergy'" when many people are allergic to cats but I have yet to meet a person who is allergic to dogs.

Also, "sometimes they catch mice, which is badass..." Harboring feelings of self destruction, perhaps, Mr. Danger Mouse?

63. You've met one now (at least online).
I love dogs, but when they touch me with their wonderful wet doggy noses they leave me with a big welt on my skin where their nose was. I have to take extra allergy medication and carry an inhaler with me if I'm going to be around dogs. Can't touch 'em, and I can only be indoors near one for half an hour to an hour. On the 1-5 allergy scale (5 being more allergic than I care to imagine) I am a 4 for dogs. I score 3 for cats, meaning I really ought not have them, either.

As a matter of fact, the only two things that I am NOT allergic to, according to my last tests, are birds and horses. I don't have the right lifestyle for birds (not enough time at home to give them the attention they need), and I don't think my apartment manager would be too thrilled if I got a horse. ;)

I have seven dogs (three fosters) and I love them. They run around, play, and think I'm their pack leader. I have a cat, but I don't care much for him. All he does is sleep all day and he doesn't do anything.

Boring indeed.

Don't like the snottiness, don't like the damn cat pan smell, don't like the hair everywhere.

I am allergic to dogs and cats BOTH. But I am a dog person. Still can't handle the sniffling and crying from the allergy to the hair, though.

And during the day. And in the evening.
Doesn't appeal to me at all.

FWIW (as she dons her flameproof undies), I have found that men who don't like cats don't make very good boyfriend material, as a general rule. There are sure to be exceptions, that's just a personal observation.

Although I'm getting a little sick of the roommate's 3 cats, plus the other 3 that he's been harboring since November. 6 cats is WAY too many, IMHO (although 2 of the harbored ones are permanently crated because they were spraying all over the house).

48. I love them both,
but I've had cats my whole life.

I get them, they get me.

The aloofness?- No big deal.

There are times I don't want to be bothered so
I let them know it.

Other times, they are the best, most comforting
pals to have around. They don't care if I look and
feel like hell, they are there to let me know I'm OK.

And yes, they try to carry on conversations all the time.
When I came back from one week in Jalisco last August,
Darwin was asking/complaining about "where were you?"
for ten minutes. We told both kitties we'd be gone for a week
but were coming back soon. We had a kitty care lady
come everyday to feed and spend time with them.

I can't imagine NOT having kitties around.

:)

Cats are far better than dogs.

I've had both.

Give me cats any day of the week.

Dogs bark, slobber, stink. Their fur isn't nearly as nice as cats. They're too subservient. Their bites can do serious, serious damage.

I wish dogs well, but I'll never have one again. I can't live without cats.

60. Those that say cats are not affectionate has never been loved by a cat.
and they probably don’t deserve to be.
Why is it that “dog” people always hate on cats? I don’t get it.

I’ve never had a cat that lacked a personality or the ability to show love and affection toward those that loved them back, and I’ve had over 20 throughout my life. All of them rescues. The cats we have now mew for my sons when they are not home, insist on cuddles at the most inopportune times and chase each other at 4 am. they also act silly and enjoy playing with my sons, these are not dog-like behaviors but natural behaviors in cats that know that they are loved. If a cat is aloof and ignores you, maybe it’s you.

:P
