1. Duke lost twice to UNC in the regular season

UNC held out their best player from the ACC Tourney so he could recover from an injury.

Besides, there's not much difference between a 1 and 2 seed. To win the NCAA you eventually have to play the best team.

If I had actually watched Pitt or Oklahoma play I'd make an insightful comment about which of those teams I'd rather have to get past to make it to the Final Four. I suspect it's a toss-up.

Lastly, both teams get to play in Greensboro, which is spelled without that extra "ugh", even though Duke's favorite arena is the Meadowlands.

FWIW, the past NCAA winners have all won their conference tournaments, which does not bode well for Carolina.

She probably read that somewhere 10 years ago and didn't bother checking to see if it's still true.

She's also ignoring the fact that several past NCAA Champions didn't have conference tournaments, which are a relatively recent trend. The ACC has always had one but they didn't become popular nationwide until the 1980s and the rise of cable sports.
