New Kitty. What should I name him?

He's the loudest of the litter and he's a poly.

Suggestions for a name?

Cause we can shorten that to Baxy. We have an obsession with nicknames that end in "y".

Just the same, I'm not hearing any bells ringing. It was so much easier when little blogslut lived here. She was the master at kitten names. Fucking college and growing up! I hate that!

57. Hemmingway...
Hemmingway's cats were polydactyl.

BTW, get kitty used to paw rubs to make claw clipping easier, no matter if you decide to clip claws yourself or find a groomer. A guillotine type clipper works best for them, especially with the thumbs which can be a weird angle to deal with when you want to extend the claws.
Check for "thumbs" that don't fully form; our polydactyl Princess has a tiny partial 7th thumb in the crease that has a claw that quickly grows back into the large foot pad, and gets infected. We still need to take her to a Vet (groomers tend to freak or miss the 7th thumb) to get her claws clipped every six weeks because of this; we got her too late in life(she was a 2 year old rescue from the pound) for her to have gotten used to having her paws and claws handled, the way our older cats did. We're still working on the pad manipulation/trust factor, so that might change another two/three years down the road, but for now, it's a costly pain.

Haele
