Frankly, if you are driving your children around in a car that
doesn't have Sirius Satellite Radio, you are neglectful and CPS should get involved.

Oh, and a sunroof.

Yep.

1. So much for supporting public radio
like Pacifica. Where again does Sirius-XM have Democracy Now airing? ;)

3. I have Dish Network, and gave Sirius a chance when it came out.
Pointless.

Their "CD" music channels have better music and no fake dj interruptions :)

Here's the kind of vehicle to use for true Satellite Radio, though:

And, I dare any of you to keep processed food out of BoyM's mouth. If Ramen Noodles and Cup O'Noodles weren't so cheap, I'd be living in said van.

13. Hey - I had an evangelical tell me.....
that allowing my two sons to listen to "secular music" is child abuse. I am apparently leading them to the gates of Hell.

I'm wondering why DYFS hasn't picked up my kids yet.

and constructing your own version of reality where magic predominates is a much worse form of abuse. Then give him a copy of Handmaidens tale.

20. We don't have cable or dish in our home
The kids at school look horrified when I tell them that. Most say, "OMG! What do you DO at your house?"

I do have to admit that I have satellite radio in my vehicle, and I'd skip meals (for me, not the kid) in order to keep it.

21. We have cable.
But, in my defense, I need cable for the computer for work. Plus, if you don't have it here, no reception at all which means no Chris Meloni naked butt possibilities.

22. We had dish years ago
When they only had the giant WV state flower kind of dishes available. It got damaged by the husband with a tractor when he was pushing down a dead tree and it never got fixed. Subscription ran out and I never renewed it. We only had it on one TV and he and jr would always fight over what channel to watch, so I told 'em it was insane to spend the extra money on that crap that we aren't home to watch most of the time anyway. I get all the cool shows jr. likes on dvd from netflix and all is right with the world. We have a nice flat screen HD tv in the living room and are ready for the conversion when it comes. I won the battle.

Plus, this way I will NEVER again have to watch the last 12 minutes of any movie, which is what my husband did when we had dish. :banghead:

36. Arrest Me
I drove my 11yo daughter to the NCAA tourney in KC. We listened to XM, but only briefly listened to America Left. Mostly, we listened to sports. I am a bad and wicked parent.

She and I ate popcorn. Then we went out to Jack Stack Barbeque. She ordered a prime rib sandwich and a side of steamed asparagus. When I pointed out to her that there were DUers who thought I should be arrested for feeding her sush fare, she reminded me that none of it was processed food.

Later, I bought her a York pepermint pattie at a truck stop.

Perhaps DU should just hire someone to kill me -- for the good of my entire family.

..and there was no sunroof!
