Aside from the usual Abe Vigoda jokes ....

Ernest Borgnine turned in a good performance on ER last week, but no one noticed because Clooney came back. I had to look him up on IMDB. Borgnine is 92 and still acting!

and he has done a fair amount of work in the past year or so.

anyone else that you was gone pop up again?

6. Seriously, Ernest Borgnine. Couldn't believe he was still alive.
Really like him though, so I'm glad.

7. A while back someone here posted in surprise that Fay Rae was still alive.
And after we all expressed amazement, she promptly died.

Careful, Ernest, we be a curse.

10. Betty White is still acting away at 86.
I was looking up some other folks:

http://www.whosaliveandwhosdead.com/actors.asp

Dick Van Dyke, 83, Carl Reiner, 86, Cloris Leachman, 82, Larry Storch from F-Troop, 84, Bea Arthur, 85, James Arness of Gunsmoke, 85,

and Barbara Billingsley, June Cleaver herself, is 93! I actually met her about 15 years ago, and she looked great then. Harry Morgan, from MASH and a million other shows is 93.

Karl Malden is 96, and recently he and his wife celebrated 70 years of marriage!

Olivia De Havilland is 92, and her sister Joan Fontaine is 91.

14. I knew all of those except Karl Malden and James Arness!
With Malden, I just would have assumed, but I thought I remembered Arness dying. Glad I was wrong. He was television's John Wayne, without the annoying pretension of John Wayne.

13. Once there was a rumor that one of my favorite musicians had died.
Edited on Thu Mar-19-09 01:32 PM by Jamastiene
I was destroyed. She is a hero to me in lots of ways. Other people don't seem to understand that, but for me, she is the reason I'm still alive and lived through my 20s. I guess you just have to be on the same wavelength to understand, but still, she is one of my heroes in life.

When I saw that rumor, it was during a time when I wasn't able to get online much at all. It was another very tough time for me in life. So, for two weeks, I went around feeling horrible and sad, just destroyed, all my hopes and dreams.

Then, when I was finally able to get back online, I found out she was alive. It was such a relief. I have felt very blessed ever since. I'm happy she's still with us. My sincerest hope is that one day, others will be able to see what I see in her.
