Long distance relationships... How often do you see your SO?

1. my SO is out in the field from 2 to 6 weeks at a stretch then home for 2 to 6 weeks

sometimes longer. I miss him when he is gone and am glad to see him when he is here, but I also make the most of the 'away'time to do things he either doesn't enjoy much or stuff with my women friends. example: he doesn't enjoy loud concerts so I try to see my favorite acts when he is away if possible and save the live theater for when he is here.

we email and or talk daily. Cell phones and email make it so much easier.

And we have been married 26 years which helps.

We had a commuter dating relationship which began after about 5 years of friendship so we had a good foundation to begin with.

Sharing jokes, events, all that.

Remember your common interests, the things that got you interested in each other, and always the funny stuff. And the cats; always the cats. He loves hearing about the cats daily routines and silly things they do

2. Mine lives in Boulder

a 45-minute bus ride from Denver. I see him once a week for an overnighter.
