I'm in the mood to go to the gym, I want to go, I'm about to walk out the door -- then Mrs. V. asks "has your punch card expired?"

Yes. My punch card is expired.

If one's not a member of the gym, one can buy a 10-visit punch card for $70. It's good for 60 days. There isn't a spare $70 in the budget right now, so I'm not going to the gym today.

The only thing that keeps this from being a major crisis is that there's a free gym at work, which I used three days this week. I can use the gym at work three days a week until we can afford to get me a new punch card.

Minor doings in the grand scheme, but to this tiny speck of dust in the universe, significant.

That might take the edge off your working out mood.

You can also use the cats as exercise weights. Do fifty fur curls on each arm, alternating sides every 5. Cover your slippers in catnip and tuna juice, then drag the attached kitties around the house for an hour.
