I'm listening to a CD of Scarlatti's piano sonatas. Not bad...

2. That must be fun. :-)
My grandson used to entertain himself through bed-prep time by singing "Bob The Builder" at the top of his voice.

5. I'm just glad he's done singing Schoolhouse Rock.
Actually he's quiet now, so either he's fallen asleep or he found some trouble to get into...

8. I'm listening to Dream Theater's new disc "Systematic Chaos"
and the debut CD from Wild Light called "Adult Nights." Sort of alternating between the two. I just bought both discs and I like them both, but Dream Theater is better.

I've heard of Opeth before, never listened to them, and so far...via youtube, they sound/are pretty damn good.

Quickly shot to the top of my favorite metal bands. Opeth, along with Scar Symmetry and Meshuggah form my triad of Swedish Prog/Death metal favorites.

That's the one that song, Patterns In The Ivy, comes from, and it's overall a little heavier than Watershed.

18. AC/DC's Jailbreak was just on, so it can't be metal.
Or so I'm told here on DU. Priest is, as is Maiden and the other same genre shit at the time. But AC/DC isn't metal. Never was, never will be. Sabbath's worst flushable crap is metal, but AC/DC isn't. Sorry.

22. Don't get me started.
Some blokes here thought they could school me on metal with AC/DC in absentia.

Angus is king. Just because THEY don't think so...don't make it so.

29. Agreed,
AC/DC is metal...no arguments from me, I just never heard of someone, arguing the opposing view...

The genre/breaking down of different styles of music is entertaining at best...they got Poison, Ratt in Heavy Metal and they are far from it, but I love me some genre wars, :)
