So, WHY is 60 minutes not on now? Basketball??????
Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe they should start their games earlier in order to avoid upsetting those of us who enjoy sixty minutes but don't give a rats behind about basketball?

3. It's impossible to do that
There are 64 (65 technically) teams in the tournament. This is the round of 32 and there are eight tournament sites. They have to play them all day.

13. They can play them, do they have to be on network television?
I would think they could show them on espn, why pre-empt things? It isn't as if they don't know how long the games will be.

16. Too much demand for ESPN
Edited on Sun Mar-22-09 06:52 PM by EastTennesseeDem
ESPN runs the women's tournament. CBS has the fatter wallets and the ever so slightly larger amount of people who watch it.

I'm sure ESPN would LOVE to show the Big Dance, much like they would love to show the BCS. They just can't.

20. Miillions of people don't have a cable package that carries ESPN
I'm one of them.

The NCAA Tourney is one of the few sporting events I enjoy watching, not worth paying extra for ESPN just for that.

6. there's an AMAZING game on now
Marquette and Missouri are trading punch for punch. I'm shocked that CBS isn't broadcasting this everywhere.

17. Basketball brings in more money than 60 minutes.
Money is what makes the world go around.

Does this really need to be explained?
