Ugh, the Red River is flooding and my back is uber-sore from sandbagging all morning.
The water's rising astonishingly quickly, Flood stage was reached couple days ago and the water is expected to crest at 41 feet latter in the week, 2 feet higher then the 1997 crest.

Now we have a fucking T-storm too and it's raining like crazy. If the projected crest level gets any higher I'm gonna start pulling my hair out. :banghead:

2. You were probably too young for the '97 flood
hopefully this one won't be nearly as bad. Stay safe.

4. I was just about to turn 11 at the time.
I didn't live right in Fargo then, but in a rural community near it (Ulen, MN). My dad was there, though, his apartment got flooded.

3. Stay safe.
Get your important papers and photos into your car, so they are ready to leave if you have to.

Flood season to you is what wildfire season is to me.

5. All my important stuff is at my mom's, who lives about 45 miles NE of here.
I make a habit of keeping all my important papers at mom's just in case of things like this.

6. Good. If you need to head for high ground do not wait too long.
I have family up in Grand Forks. 1997 was very scary.
