My sister's in China. Should I be worried?
I realize that alot of business people travel there now, but she's never been out of the country before. (Well,Canada, but I don't know if that counts). She did send me a lovely email about the "toilets" there, but aside from that, she says she's doing well. I'm not so sure. Please reassure me that she'll be all right.

1. We've traveled to China twice, once with an 18 month old
and then 3 years later with a 4 1/2 year old. No problems. I ended up with a bit of diarrhea when I got back, but my daughter never had any problems.

If she is in any of the major cities, most street signs are in Chinese & English and most hotels will have English speaking staff - heck, a lot of the hotels will answer their phones first in English, then in Chinese (they think it makes them seem more sophisticated & international)

Most likely her biggest problem will be a cab driver taking her on a circuitous $15 cab ride when they probably could have done it for $5.
