Does anybody else get these annoying robo-calls?
"We have an important messag about your credit card! There's nothing wrong with your card, but we can give you a better rate blah blah...Press 1 to speak to a customer service representative or press 2 and your opportunity will expire."

or

"This may be your last opportunity to extend the warranty on your car! Press 1 to speak to a customer service representative or press 2 and your opportunity will expire."

I've pressed 2 enough times to know that it won't stop the calls from coming. And if I press 1 to try to find out who the company is, I'm told "credit services", and when I mention that I'm on the do not call list, they hang up on me.

So how can I find out who these people really are? I want to report their sorry asses!

2. I press 1 and wait for a human voice. Then I hit the doorbell and hold the phone down by the dogs.
I hate those fucking things.

7. LOL
There was a time I wouldn't have had to actually push the doorbell, but just say 'doorbell' and Raven would go berserk. It's been 6 years since we had a bell, maybe I could just go 'knock, knock.'

11. It seems like we should be able to complain to the Do Not Call Registry
But it's tough to do that when they won't tell you exactly who they are.

8. Yes & I am also getting them on my CELL PHONE!
I am on the "national do not call list", I have reported them every time they have called. I talked to one of their "supervisors" and told him I was on the list and to take me off their calling list. It stopped for two weeks before they started again. They are breaking the law and they don't care.

They are also calling my cell phone which is totally unacceptable. Oh, I don't carry a balance so I don't know why I would need their "services". I suspect they may be a scam trying to get peoples card numbers.

Here is where to report them. ALSO, CALL YOUR REPRESENTITIVES to light a fire under the FTC to enforce the do not call list.

12. The cellphone ads really piss me off...
because I'm a pay-as-you-go customer. I don't want to pay money to listen to that crap!

Thanks for the website. I guess I'll have to tell them I'm interested but need a number to call, so I can report them...That wouldn't be considered entrapment, would it?

9. I ask them what the name of their company is.
Then tell them I always report them since I'm on the Do Not Call registry. They promptly hang up. And I fill in the form at Do Not Call. It's not helping.

13. When I've asked who they are, they reply "Credit Services"
But I'm sure that can't be the name of the company.

21. We found out those numbers can only make call outs
and can't accept call in's. My daughter tracked one down a few years ago after they repeatedly robo-called us several times a day for several days, sometimes within minutes of each other. They were in our area though so it was easier to determine who they were by using the city phone book along with info online. IIRC, the person told my daughter they had to go "next door" to the call out center and tell them their computer was not working right. The calls stopped.

19. I became fed up so I called
Qwest & complained.

They offered their No Solicitation service for 6.95 per month.
It's well worth it even though I hate giving them more money.

Unfortunately, the employee first tried to sell me the Do Not
Call After 8 pm. Duh.

I think when someone or a computer dials this number, they
hear the recording....blahblahblah.....press 1 to continue with
this call. Since it is computer, it cannot press 1.

Peace & quiet reigns here now. Easy to take a nap etc.

22. We get one constantly from 5-062 as the first digits then the number.
We just let it go to the answering machine. From what little I've read about it online, it's a scam.

You can google the number and usually find info.

www.whocalled.us is another place that usually has info.
