I don't recall seeing this type of spider before. It was an orange-red color and was a little smaller than a quarter.

Spiders never come flying at you or buzz your head. I HATE that!

brown widows in my area!!! WTF? Wasn't the black one enough? Not to mention brown recluses! x(

17. At least the brown widow looks like the black widow.
It's not hard to spot that fat body and red hour glass. There are a lot of wolf spiders that look like they could be brown recluses. You have to get too close to tell those apart. I just throw a shoe.

21. I am never sure about the recluses!
The widow is obvious. I have seen more of the widows than I have recluse. Or at least I think I have. I have a really hard time with recluses. My husband was bit by one when he was younger. They are really aggressive spiders.

32. Recluses are very aggressive.
The good thing is that they usually stay away from human areas. When we lived in Texas, I was always on the look out for them. I almost put my hand on a doorknob where one was just sitting. My in-laws live out in the boondocks, so it's not shocking to see all kinds of wild critters around.

My favorite experience EVER :sarcasm: was sitting at the kitchen counter on a bar stool and having a scorpion drop in my lap from the second story loft above my head. I think I broke the Olympic record for 100 meter dash. It still gives me the oogies. :scared:

34. They completely freak me out.
I had another incident with a scorpion on the inside of the shower curtain. I got in the shower and saw a weird shadow. I was out of that shower so fast! I yelled for my husband, and he came in and got the thing out of the shower. I made him sit in the bathroom with me while I took my shower. That was the fastest shower I ever took.

24. Gently scoop her up on a piece of paper and put her outside
One of the kids squished a small spider like that at the beach last year and THOUSANDS of babies ran all OVER the damn bathroom at around 2:30 a.m. It was NOT a good scene.

25. Looks like an orb weaver kind, the ones that make the cool webs
probably getting a drink of water in your sink

Spiders are our friends, long as they're not the agressive/deadly kind.

They give me the creeps but I force myself to tolerate and co-exist with them.

Try is the key word. I usually do more harm while trying to catch and release because I get freaked out at times.

31. The spider didn't make it. My husband flushed it down the toilet.
I didn't want him to since it isn't venomous.
