Poll question: On a scale of one to ten, ten being the best, how cool is the Wii?
I've never played on one and I'm wondering if I want one.

1. It's novel for a little while but its shine wears off quick.
You're better off getting a PS3.

2. I'll have to look up the features on the PS3. I've heard some of these things...
have everything but the kitchen sink in them.

16. my kids like the Wii and my husband likes the PS3 better
don't know if that helps you at all. I'm not much for video games, but I love the Wii fit. We got the PS3 because my cousin works for Sony. We usually buy the games for both systems used at Game Stop unless it is something that is coming out that they have to have and then we save gift cards for that occasion. Like Sonic and the Black Knight just came out for Wii and our son had been waiting for months counting down the days. We had gift cards from Christmas saved for the occasion. They like the fact that you can play gamecube games on the Wii. Our PS3 doesn't play PS2 games, but I know that some models do.

7. Yep, just like all the systems

And the games are not cheap ($49.00 or so for the good ones). Wii is just wireless and has some gets one more animated. Really has something for all ages so is great for a family.

Here is something else in the news today that you might want to consider waiting for:

OnLive to stream videogames as online service

SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) – Californian technology firm OnLive is poised to launch a service that streams videogames over the Internet, meaning players can avoid buying expensive consoles or packaged software.

OnLive ended seven years of "stealth" development late Tuesday by announcing the system should launch in the United States by the end of the year.

The firm is building a library of videogame software on servers that players reach over broadband Internet by using mini-programs in home computers or OnLive MicroConsoles connected to television sets.

"We've cleared the last remaining hurdle for the videogames industry: effective online distribution," said OnLive founder and chief executive Steve Perlman.

8. From my experience I'd say 8.
As a game system goes it is a bit underpowered and the library isn't the best... but its nifty features and the ability to get nerds off their asses and exercising automatically gives it 4 or 5 points. :)

If I had more experience with it I could give it a more accurate rating, that's just my impression of it. I've only played a handfull of times.

19. I have yet to play anything more advanced than PS2
Looks like a lot of fun, though. Kudos to Nintendo for thinking outside the box.

20. games
Hi,
I will always be biased toward Nintendo. Mario Galaxy is a fun game for it and really utilizes the unique controller. The Zelda games are fun, and I found the Lego Indiana Jones original adventures pretty fun. I like the Wii Fit, although not the hardest workout thing you will do. EA Sports is coming out with a more rounded and intensive workout program for the system I think in May. Will definitely be buying that. Just like any system, there are bad and good games, like an earlier poster stated, the library for Wii is limited.

Peace

22. Agreed about the Wii Fit
That said, I am glad of that for myself, as I have some significant medical and physical issues that necessitate that I do not overdo it, and the Wii Fit gets me moving, without injuring myself.

My life partner is looking forward to the EA Games workout disc for the Wii Fit. He has lost close to 150 pounds since July of 2007 and is motivated to keep it off.

23. what do you like to do?
Hi,
Yeah, it depends on what you do. For some reason I can't stand jogging outside, but standing in front of the t.v. watching programs while running in place I don't mind. What things on it do you like doing? I like the yoga too, but some of those things I need to have a chair to keep my balance!

Peace

24. I can't do the jogging because I have an artificial hip
And jogging is high impact. I suppose I could walk in place instead of jog using the jogging games. I should try that next.

I do the step aerobics, some of the yoga poses, boxing, and a lot of the balance games. I actually do work up a good sweat on that thing. Yeah, some of the yoga poses work better for those with a very low center of gravity (I am really tall).

I also play tennis in Wii Sports.

21. We love our Wii
We are not hard core gamers. Hard core gamers like the PS3 and the X-Box 360 better than the Wii, in general.

The Wii comes packaged with Wii Sports (Tennis, Baseball, Bowling, Boxing, and Golf). The other consoles do not come with a game unless you buy a bundle.

We have the Wii Fit as well. We have cancelled our gym membership because we are using the Wii Fit, our bicycles, workout DVDs and resistance bands. The Wii Fit does a good job in tracking our fitness activities.

The game titles we have are

Wii Play (comes packaged with another Wii Remote - the Wii comes with only one remote).
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
Game Party
Sonic and the Secret Rings
A Spongebob game (not sure of the title)
Shaun White Snowboarding (works with the Wii Balance Board from the Wii Fit)
MarioKart (comes packaged with 1 Wii wheel - we really need to get another wheel)

We just got MarioKart and the Shaun White Snowboarding (we won a gift basket from my daughter's softball association opening day raffle).
